Today’s Promise

We Are God’s Children

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26

God’s Child

Do you see God as your father or your boss? Today’s promise is all about whose you are.

The book of Galatians is all about what Jesus did to bring salvation. The focus is not on what you must do for God but on what Jesus did for you. Jesus’ death and resurrection finished the work needed to bring you salvation. All you must do is come to Him in faith.

So many Christians think salvation comes with a job description. They believe God saved them by grace but feel it takes a lot of work to live up to that grace. They spend their life trying to please God by keeping a set of rules they created or someone created for them.

Jesus Plus Nothing

Christianity is Jesus plus nothing. In the Apostle Paul’s day, some taught you had to follow Jesus and all the Jewish laws and rituals. Today, the church still suffers from a “Jesus plus” mentality.

When you put your faith in Jesus as Savior, God wraps you up in Him. The Bible calls this being “in Christ.” His righteousness now covers you. His standing before God becomes your standing. You are clothed in the sonship of Jesus. Because you are in Christ, you are a son of God (this includes you, ladies). All the riches of Christ become yours.

A Grown Child

The word “child” here refers to grown children. God calls us to be men and women who are mature in our faith and walk with Christ. As a son of God, you can come boldly into God’s presence with your needs and prayers.

God isn’t your boss or employer; He is your Father. When you came to Christ in faith, God became your Father, and you became His child. He invites you to call Him “Daddy.” You are a child of the living, creator God.

Let’s look at that promise once again.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. – Galatians 3:26

Make these confessions.

  • I am a Child of God.
  • God is my Father
  • I am in Christ and covered by His blood.
  • I come boldly before Him in prayer.
  • He calls me son, and I call Him Father.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen

When you fully embrace the promise that you are God’s child and He is your Father, everything in your Christian life will change. You will find new intimacy in prayer and new power for living.

Trusting that my niece will be moved to a group home that suits all her needs. We have been close then something happened and they didn’t accept her. She will be interviewed this Thursday for a new home. I’m depending on God and His will to make this happen 🙏 We have been waiting for 3 1/2 years.
