Today’s Promise

When I Fall Down, God Picks Me Up

Proverbs 24:16

For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

We All Fall

Failure is a part of life. If you are not falling or failing ever once in a while, you just not growing. You learned to walk by taking a lot of falls. Imagine what life would be like if the first time you took a fall while learning to walk, you said: “forget this, I’m just going to crawl.”

No one hops on a pair of snow skis or a snowboard and doesn’t fall. Falling is part of the learning experience. The only way to never fall or fail is never to try.

We all fall; what matters is that we get back up.

Jesus is watching over you today, so if you fall, He is there to help you get back up, dust things off, and keep going.

Peter Was a Failure

The Apostle Peter was one of the greatest disciples but was also one of the greatest failures. When the time came to stand for Christ, he took the coward’s way out and denied even knowing Him. When Jesus came walking on water on the storm-filled night, Peter jumped out of the boat and walked on water to Jesus. When He took his eyes off the Lord, he began to sink. He failed as a “water-walker, but at least he got out of the boat.

In both cases, Jesus helped Peter get back up and follow Him again. Jesus reached out to the sinking Peter and walked with him back to the boat. When it came time to choose who would give the keynote address at Pentecost, Jesus chose Peter.

God Knows

God knows the stuff you are made of. He knows you are human, and He doesn’t expect perfection. When you fall into sin or fail in any other area of life, know that Jesus is there to reach out and restore you. He will walk with you through the failure and bring you back to fellowship with Him.

When you fall, don’t allow Satan to convince you to stay down. Only those without hope stay down. The worse thing you can do when you fall is to remain in the dust. Reach out to Jesus, and you will find help to get back up and get going again.

Look at that promise again.

For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. – Proverbs 24:16

Make these confessions.

  • Falling and failing are natural parts of life.
  • When I fall, Jesus is there to help pick me up and get going again.
  • In Jesus Name, when I fall, I will not stay down.
  • No matter how many times I fall, with Jesus’ help, I will always get back up.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

If you are down from a fall, isn’t it time to turn to Christ? Put the past in the past, and get up again.

On October 11, I’ll be hosting an online celebration of what God has done over the last three years. I’ll have some special guests, you’ll hear about how the ministry began, and some exciting news about a new vision for the ministry God has put on my heart. I hope you will join me.

I’d like to use your testimony during the event. If God has done a work in your life through The Daily Promise or the National Prayer Room ministry, I’d love to hear from you. Click the button below to share your testimonial. Your story will help encourage others around the world. Thanks in advance for your help.
