Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.
Created by God
You were created by the hand of God. He fashioned you just the way you are so you can bring Him glory.
Something special separates you from the rest of the animal kingdom. Sure, you share much of the same genetic material, but this one distinction makes you unique. You were fashioned by God’s hand.
The world would have you believe you are simply an accidental combination of two DNA strands. They would say your life is nothing more than a genetic accident. God’s word tells a completely different story.
Crafted for His Purpose
You are the result of a loving God, crafting you for His purposes. The word “Fashioned” is the picture of a sculptor carefully molding a lump of clay until it is just the way he wants it. He continues to mold the clay until it is the perfect size and shape for his purposes.
God didn’t just make you and say, “Good enough.” God carefully crafted you until you were just perfect for the work and purpose He has for you.
Today, you can celebrate who you are and how you look because God created and fashioned you. You are His handiwork.
Accept God’s Work
So many people never learn to accept themselves. They spend their lives wishing they were someone else. They look in the mirror and wish they were taller or shorter and had straight or curly hair. They think they would like themselves if they had a smaller nose or weighed less.
However, when you understand that you are just the way God intended you to be, you can accept and celebrate who you are. The screwdriver and the hammer look different because each has a different purpose. God created you for a purpose, and He made you to fit that purpose.
Instead of wishing you were taller, shorter, thinner, or heavier, why not celebrate the fact that God made you the way you are so you would fit perfectly into His plan for your life?
You will never experience the meaningful life God intends for you as long as you wish you were someone different.
Look at that promise one more time.
