Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday Jesus Will Finish What He Started in You

We began the week with the promise that God is always working in our lives. What God started when we gave our lives to Christ, He will complete when we see Him face to face.

Here’s the promise.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

Make these confessions.
  • What God began in my life, He will complete.
  • Every day He is working to make me more like Jesus.
  • He has brought me this far and is not going to quit on me now.
  • I am confident that He will complete His work in me.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

What God began in our lives, He will complete. It’s easy to think the Christian life is all about what we need to do. However, the Christian life is really about God working in us.

TuesdayJesus Gives Eternal Life

On Tuesday, we celebrated the eternal life we have in Christ.

Here’s the promise.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment but has passed from death to life. – John 5:24

Make these confessions.
  • Because I have faith in Christ, I have eternal life.
  • I have passed from death to life.
  • I have no fear of death because I know I have eternal life.
  • When I die, I will spend eternity with the Lord enjoying all the wonders of heaven.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

As Christians, we don’t fear death because we know it is the last step to experiencing the eternal, abundant life Jesus promised.

WednesdayGod Eagerly Listens to My Prayers

Midway through the week, we saw as His children, God always hears and answers our prayers.

Here’s the promise.

For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. – 1 Peter 3:12

Make these confessions.
  • As a child of God, I know God hears my prayer.
  • When I pray, He leans forward with eager anticipation.
  • I never worry that God hears my prayers.
  • I know that when I pray, God hears, and when He hears, He answers.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

God has His ear attentive to your voice. His ear is tuned to your call. You never have to wonder if God hears your prayers. He is eager and willing to hear and answer your prayer.

ThursdayJesus Sets You Free

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that in Jesus Christ, we have freedom.

Here’s the promise.

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. – John 8:36

Make these confessions.
  • In Jesus Christ, I am free.
  • I am no longer a slave to my sin.
  • I have freedom from my guilt and shame.
  • I have the freedom to walk in fellowship with God every day.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Christ set you free to be the person God calls you to be. You are no longer held back by the chains that once kept you down. You are free!

FridayGod Uses Your Suffering

We ended the week by seeing how God uses suffering in our life for our good and His glory.

Here’s the promise.

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. – 1 Peter 5:10

Make these confessions.
  • My suffering won’t last forever.
  • I can rejoice in my suffering because God will use it.
  • He is perfecting and confirming me.
  • He is strengthening me and will establish me.
  • My suffering is minimal compared to the glory of knowing Christ.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Our suffering won’t last forever. Our suffering is nothing compared to the incredible glory found in Christ.
